There was a period not too long ago when I got into a bit of a food rut.

What kind of food rut? Well, the kind that prevented me from straying too far from old favourites, like always ordering the Pad Thai and Green Curry at every single Thai restaurant I went to (Honestly. Every. Single. Time.) and never bothering to see what else was on the menu. While staying loyal to the well established classics is good and all, it never hurts to try new things. Try. Taste. Be spontaneous! You may like it or you may hate it. But there's a small chance that you may just very well love it. And when you really, really love it, it'll go down in history as one of those truly memorable life moments. Seriously. And those wonderfully delicious life moments? Well, I wouldn't mind having more of them.

And the truly great thing about food is that there's always room for new discoveries. For new food memories. An unforgettable meal, an amazing dish, a knock-your-socks-off kind of snack, they have a way of staying with you long after the last spoon is licked clean and the very last crumbs are polished off. Food gets people talking. It gets people travelling. It gets people going. And most of all, it gets people sharing. This is why I love it.

This blog is just a small taste - or rather, a small bite - of my food stories. My history. A food journal of sorts. Although I'll definitely look back and share some old favourites of mine, mostly, this is a darn good excuse to try new things. To try new bites, new spoonfuls, new mouthfuls. In short, to thoroughly embrace one of life's simplest pleasures.
